buy my water, how long does it stay pure?
« on: March 11, 2015, 11:15:09 pm »
I buy it.  Check it with one of those meters and ppm is 2.  Keep the water in barrels in garage. Is keeping it for more than 4 or 5 weeks too long ?

As long as tanks are clean, out of the sun and dust and insects aint getting in. It will stay pure forever tbh

Perhaps he lives in a flat, has no space, difficult neighbours / landlord, low water pressure, meter, cannot park near his home etc. etc.

I live in a flat, used to produce own water but would spend hours of an evening trying to gain a parking space close enough to fill my tank  that then would take 2-3 hours to do. could never really be sure or able to plan a full working week (some days I could not even park in same street). Now I buy my water, my working day is shorter, I can plan and schedule days ahead and have my free time back again.
So it can make sense.

Good reply but it might not even be as complicated as that, its sounds like he doesn't need a lot if he's storing it for that length
of time so why invest in purifying equipment for a small amount of filtered water.
Your water will stay the same TDS as long as your containers are clean and sealed, try to keep then out of the sun as this
will stop green algae forming.

I keep a bottle of pure mixed with gg4 for trad - that goes off after a week or two. I don't know how long pure keeps for if it hasn't been passed through a uv filter. Our transfer pipes used to clog up with algae when we used RO units in the print trade.
