Cleaner Planner Switch
« on: March 10, 2015, 07:06:47 pm »
So switched form Aworka yesterday  but obviously i did jobs last week so debts have been carried over to CP now do you mark them off in say Aworka and CP .

I want to ensure that during the switch that my profit and loss is recorded correctly for accounting purposes and that no errors are made in preparation for my accounts my year end is 5th April .

8weekly

Why didn't/don't you wait until the end of the month?

Doesn't matter when you make the switch you will always end up with an overlap regardless as custys just don't pay on time .

Hi Mike,

Personally I'd just take a snapshot of your figures in Aworka up to a set date e.g. end of Sunday 8 March and rely on Cleaner Planner figures from Monday 9 March onwards.

Important thing is to decide precisely where one set of records (Aworka) ended and the new set (CP) starts. Ensure Aworka is 100% up to that point and CP is 100% after that point.

For this year you'll need to hand your accountant your Aworka figures up to that point and 1 months worth of CP figures as well. Shouldn't be to hard to add the two together though.

Hi Mike

In an ideal world you would wait until the end of the tax year and take a
Screen shot.

Here is what I would do.

I would run both until the end of the tax year so you get comfortable with cleaner planner.

Then at the end of the tax year ask Rob to reset cleaner planner and then start fresh on CP in new tax year.

CP is fantastic but the whole worksheet routine does take some getting used to. Now it's bloody simple. I can do it in my sleep.

I hope Rob doesn't mind me mentioning about resetting.

Rob is very accommodating when it comes to CP :)

Yep Mike, you could do that if you prefer, keep Aworka 100% up to date until end of month, CP 100% from 6/4 onwards.

We would do a reset and reimport from Aworka on 6/4 so you wouldn't have to worry about keeping CP 100% for the next 3 weeks (lots of effort updating 2 systems).

Only thing is we'd have to tidy up those email addresses again to get your GC to sync! No biggie though.

Up to you, let me know what you'd prefer.

Rob will back me up.

I think I was a nightmare customer for him.

I deleted accounts. Formatted wrong hardrives. Had excel. George and CP all running at the same time!!!!!

I was in the same position as you and my advice is what I am doing :)

Thanks guys i will run Aworka till tax year end then print off all past data for accounts etc .

Then I will fully run CP as 6th April , CG email addresses all sorted this morning 1 or 2 may have slipped through but i doubt it .

Until that time i will get used to CP and and configure settings etc to suit my working practice and improve on a few things .

Because CP tracks and records income precisely i found i was making lots of mistakes. Customers paying cheques, cash, online and was marking them off as paying "whatever"

Getting used to worksheets, rounds adding jobs etc. It was nice to run both and practice with CP.

CP is VERY addictive, i find myself on it most nights. If i get a call from a customer and they give any info away (like they ring from home number, and i haven't got it) in it goes.
