Hi all,
I already operate rug cleaning as a side line to my carpet cleaning, where i collect rugs/clean/return and am thinking about concentrating on this side of the business. I have suitable premises but am looking for any additional info to set up a specialist 'rug clinic' i.e. extra machines and techniques particularly to do with cleaning high quality rugs.

I've heard about rug beaters/dusters that you can buy to really get the dry soil out, are these any good and are there any available in the uk (i've seen a few from the states).

If anyone already operates this kind of business perhaps you can give me few pointers in the right direction

Hi Steve

If setting this up you need to consider the drying aspect. You have to have decent drying facilities to ensure a good turnaround of rugs.
Scafolding poles with platic pipe over make good drying racks either on a pulley system or on high trestles. Couple this with a decent dehumidifier and an airmover and it does the job.
