what is the next cheapest way to make pure water second to the 300 RO system,      got 300 ro   + 10 inch DIvessel,      i need to start making more pure      around 700 litres a week or more if needed.

does an extra membrane added to my 300 RO make more in the same time, im going to add a booster pump

700L per week? That isn't a lot and I would have thought your system could do that... although if your system isn't boosted then your mains pressure will have an affect on speed and quality.

One of our RO units is a 450GPD with a 24V booster pump, before it hits the DI it takes the mains water down from 300+ TDS to 11 (currently) TDS and will create 500L every 16 hours at the moment (this seems to vary on how new the membranes and filters are slightly).

Bottom line is if you were to boost your RO system (I used the cheapest 24v pump I could find and it has been going strong for 2 years+) then basing your 300GPD unit on 66% of the speed of a 450 system, you should be able to create  just over 300L per 16 Hours, or 18.75L per hour

450gpd (add another 150 membrane) with a booster pump, you'll make your 700L in a day let alone the week

Produce it into a static holding tank and jobs a good 'un

(I'd get a bigger D.I vessel if you see one going cheap. The 10" is about as useful as a smack in the face, i was forever changing the resin!)

Depending upon your water purity you may or may not need a bigger vessel, I haven't changed my resin in about 6 months here with a boosted 450 system..

Aha sorry, misread... I also changed up a year or so ago from a 10 inch to a big blue one (possibly 5L) who knows? I suppose it does save getting soaked and covered in resin once a month or so

my tds = 138,  coming out ro @ 5ish     varies,    goes through DI  000.     without a booster pump it takes around 8 hours for 220 litres.      when i get sorted in spring it will be going in outhouse and i can leave on  regardless.

with it being in kitchen atm     i have to do it during day just incase,  but it does get drained from kitchen to outside water butt.

i ve  had a 25 litre bag of resin and only used around half in 2 years.   which is great.

i will have to get a holding tank,  store it at rear garden,  then pump it from there to van.

if i had tap fitted at rear garden it would be great,    but would mean carpets up, floorboards up,  new piping to rear..

im a coward  when i said this the mrs rolled her eyes and shook her head.

but if i need to do this i may have to.

ill have to send her away for a couple of days,    then get it all done

i can then put ro in shed

How are you intending on fitting an outdoor tap?!?!

You can buy a kit from a DIY store, and you dont need to be a plumber to fit
They split a water feed pipe (usually washing machine)
Drill through and external wall, and fit the tap

kitchen / sink is on the front of house,  + driveway,    no room in front for a bigger holding tank.    bathroom/toilet on front.   no pipe acess at rear,
i would have to get a fitting in the airing cupboard     under floorboards and go from there,     ill ask a plumber around to quote.
