Hi guys just wondering weather to do this or not .
I do get tired of lifting the reel in and out of the van all the time .
I have a two man system , a helper helps me once a week , so was thinking of mounting just one reel .

I suppose I need
1- brackets
2- 2x guilder square hole devices to feed the hose through .

Probably through the van floor and another at the rear bumper .

Or just one through the rear door ?

Hey kempy, this was talked about on the other forum a while back. Just use some pipe clips to mount your reel, still easily removable.
Also you don't need to make holes for roller guides, just place it near the door.
Personally I'd rather not be chopping holes in my van, though if I did I'd probably have a fuel filler cap fitted to hide the hole and to stop cold getting in.

I've considered mounting our reels, but I do like the flexibility of being able to lift them out of the van and point them in the direction we're working in. 

Often, especially since we're a two 'man' team, one works in one direction and the other works in completely the other direction.

What I do find useful is having two hose reels; one with 100 meters of hose, the other with only 60 meters.  If I'm working by myself, I'll just use the reel with 60 meters on it because it's a lot lighter to lift in-and-out.

Tosh reels pointing the "right way" is overrated, you can pull off really easy unless doing 180 turn, fixed reels save time and energy

Reel works - take 100 meters of microbore.

They work well, but the handles fail on occasion, now fitted with the latest pure freedom solid side reels - lovely !

This was mine when i went 2 man 1 van , both reels could go in either direction , the wheeled reel could also be lifted out , i miss that set up in a way .

I lift and point. Pain with 100mtr minibore. 50mtr of microbore on another reel sounds a good idea. I need to be able to empty my van. Even considered moving some gear for a charity. Cant do that with some of the setups shown

I used to think.the same Tosh but I would never go back to an unfixed reel now it makes the day soooo much easier

carabiners hung off the tail gate - change direction of the hose with them. Never take the reel out ever.

I can't think how that works or how you hang the carabiners.
