Question for the lads who deal in longer frequency cleans.

Personally always done monthly / bimonthly and kept away from longer interval cleaning.


If you offer 6 and 12 weekly what is your split ... in other words do many customers go for the 12 weekly ?

I have a few villages that are 6 weekly. Old windy was 6 and they didn't want less.

Everybody has to be 6 or 12 weeks really.

On say a £15 house. If they want 12 weeks it's £25. Usually puts em off but I still get some say they want 12 weeks. Some of my 12 week cleans ain't bad. But some are terrible. Especially for spider poo.

On my 6/12 week split. I only have about 5-10% that are 12 weekly.

Not many go for 12 weekly on my round.  This is possibly because I usually charge about a third more per clean.  It seems to be mainly those who are short of money or those who have much larger properties (and who may also be short of money in spite of appearances).  Also, I tend not to mention the possibility of 12 weekly unless they look like cancelling.  Even then, if they are a PITA, I just encourage them to cancel.
Probably less than 5% on 12 weekly.

Fairly similar to Walter Mitty

On an average week I'll have average 40 houses 5-8 max will be 12 weekly, I do try to keep similar amount in money and time on alternate 6 weekly routine of 12 weekly so I can have similar weekly earnings each 6 weeks

Mostly because I will charge 50% more on average,  so for instance a £30 6 weekly will be £45 12 weekly

To be honest I prefer 12 weekly as there less likly to cancel I do have very few cancellations from regulars but I offer a lot of one off cleans who ussally repeat at least 3 times a year but a lot of yearly cleans

I can often earn a better day rate from 12 weekly, less houses , I always use hot so not to much extra effort

12weekly?? thats 4 times a year haha, if my 4weeklys are late by a day  some of my old dears moan at me haha

i mostly do 6 weekly, find 4 weekly people notice they dont need doing and opt for 8 weekly, so 6 weekly gives them another 2 weeks to get dirty

to do 8weekly id need twice as much work as i have. getting the windows clean is the hard part keep7ng them clean is my job, prevention is better than cure lol. thats what i tell my customers, i even do a few 2 weeklys lol

My 2 monthly jobs now outnumber the monthlies. Doesn't bother me though as the work pays better

I used to do that too (charge 50% more).  I found that there were more cancellations when I did that but a third extra seems to give a larger retention rate.  I still do go for 50% if it's a job I don't really want or if it has become too low priced over the years.  Sometimes I do it the other way.  I have a customer who I really like and the price was already a very good one - so I still do his 12 weekly for the 6 weekly rate.  It's one job on its own so won't lead to others doing it.  So although I say a third, I can be flexible (either way).

depending on price a 1/3 or 50% is not to far away from each other for example a £9 job add 1/3 = £12 or add 50% on £9.00 = £13.50 but i would probs only charge £12.50

Each job is assessed individually such as location etc .

I think the biggest mistake we make is offering longer time span cleaning when we first offer our service. Always offer the time between service you would want to do clean. The customer will always try to stretch the times between having them cleaned. This becomes the norm and has the same expectations on the quality as the more regular 4 weekly cleans.

We do every 6 wks and 12 wks...i find that most of the big country houses go for 12 wk and im happy with that as that's the propertys I'm interested in now... I charge well for them and there's no messing about with them..
