Van insurance ridiculous - water tanks
« on: January 28, 2015, 08:43:46 pm »
Never had a problem insuring vehicles in past. Im getting a pickup and they wouldnt carry on the policy so i had to cancel that and shop around, 3 companies said point blank when i mentioned about being a window cleaner and water tanks etc that they would not insure me.

After speaking to Damo, pure H2O and quick look on here i rang Aviva, first lad i spoke to, i set it out i was a window cleaner and immediately he said they wouldnt insure me so stuck to me guns and told him you do, he put me on hold and passed me thru to someone helpful lol.

Anyway, long chat, all declared they insured me no problem. I would recommend Aviva to anyone struggling to get insruance. I just find it ridiculous that companies dont want to know! What grates me is we're trying to be honest, doing it the right way, declaring everything, then theres people out there driving round with no insurance! Anyway thats my rant this evening.

Had no trouble insuring mine with A Plan.
The premium did not even increase.

My premium with A-Plan (renewed Saturday) has come down by almost exactly 30%.  Utterly pain free.

Flux insured my Ranger with tank with no issues. £200 less now than three years ago though you do have watch them at renewal time.

Aviva are very good

Last renewal they not only covered my new van, they gave me additional theft cover for the grippamax tank in new van, then they gave me additional £4k cover for my Truckmounted carpet cleaning machine in my other van.
Think premium for the two is something like £800 per year

Mr B
If in doubt.....Leave it out !!
