Setting up another van, but it's a little high to fit a roof rack and ladders.

For those that use the little giant range of ladders, which one is the most suitable for access only eg. Locked gates and flat roofs.

For the gates I'd like it to be able to straddle over the top of it, so you can go up one side then down the other like a step ladder.

my understanding is to get the 5 rung one this will in the A shape position go over 6 ft plus gates

i have one. heavy as anything. buy a little two part ladder as more useful. i have  a little ladder about 1.5m 2 parter. great for stuff like this.

Is it as heavy as a 3.2m pointer as this is what I currently use for access and gutter cleans

Sturdy and will get over most gates and 6' fence panels. It is heavy and lifting it over gates in the A frame position does require a bit of strength.

Its not bad to be honest. It sticks a little when opening it up into the A frame position but I would recommend it as a robust work tool. Its very stable.

It wasn't purchased from Screwfix but they all look the same. Rubbish in comparision. Within a year of occassional use one of the locking hinges broke (it locks but has to held in the unlocked position to close it which is awkward.) My son has a smaller version and that has been fine though.

I really can't justify the price of the Little Giant for the times I use it to be fair.

Spruce, at 1.58m max 'A' frame height, does it not struggle to get over some gates/fences?

It's the same ladder as in my picture. It gets over all normal gates.

Silly me. 

Someone put a picture of the Little giant over a gate a while back which has be used on other posts as well. I didn't look at the picture properly this time and just presumed it was the Little Giant picture again.  Sorry.

There is only one gate I can't get over on our round. They have a supporting beam across the top of the gate and that is just fractionally too high to bridge.
