« on: January 26, 2015, 10:06:38 pm »
.....and it smashed on the floor!

new customer 8 weekly window clean.

i owned up and said id waive the next clean price(£15)as he had already paid online for the clean before id finished the job.

i just caught it with my pole as i was cleaning the window above conny.first time ive broke one to be honest.have any of you guys put one back on?as i said if you manage to get another one ill try and fit it.

thinking maybe  an unger fixiclamp and trad pole would do it if he gets another one?

What I did was used plasticine to sit broken pieces in, then filled hollow bit with mastic, took half a day to set, then used a piece string and pole to sign it back on top, with small bit  of mastic as a glue

Still on ok 2 years later!

If in doubt.....Leave it out !!

Replaced a couple in my time. I have used elastic bands :)

Put in place then try and break band.

Tape may be easier.

String and a spare pole section. Years ago people carried ladders.

the conservatory has seen better days so i dont think he ll bother getting another cone.it smashed in 4 places so not possible to fix the original one.

as long as it doesnt make his roof leak i dont think he s too concerned! ;D

Ive only done one.
I broke down the seam.
I managed to superglue it back together, and glued it back on to the finial mount so i wouldn't knock it off next time.

I did one a whike ago .

I just used a ladder at a stupid angle with my Dad footing the ladder.
It was against health n safety .
Used a lot of glue or silicon . Can't remember

This is a true story. I was just recounting it to Stu Mac on FB.

I once broke a custards interior blinds when I was cleaning her inside windows. She wasn't in as she'd gone out to go shopping halfway through my visit. So feeling that gave me an opportunity to make good my escape I rolled them up, stuffed them down my trousers and legged it. Obviously suspecting something was wrong when she took a look at her manicured lawn from the comfort of her living room easy-chair the next day she phoned me up 'Matt where are the blinds'. I said 'What blinds?'. She replied with 'The ones that were hanging in the living room window overlooking the garden, they were there when I left to go shopping yesterday and when I came back they were gone and so were you'.

Ive deleted the thread on FB now as really we are a professional cleaning company and we all make mistakes when we're scallywags ;)

matt that was funny! ;D ;D ;D

did you really think she woudnt notice? ;D ;D

the worse thing i ever did was put both feet through an extension flat roof over 20 years ago.both my feet came crashing through the ceiling in the kitchen! ::)roll ;D

the husband said we need to claim on your insurance(the roof must of been 20 yrs old absolutely knackered)i basically told him to f off and i nearly punched him.

i still see his wife most months as i clean every house around hers and she still BLANKS me after all these years! ;D

We knocked one off about six weeks ago Lol first time ever 😄 lucky it landed on the grass so we used 2 slx poles and placed it between the brushes via a support strap. We got it back on and better than before it was off tbh.

I've only ever had one come off. It was the type that slides out of fixing slots. Luckily it didn't break and I was just able to push it back in place off my ladder
To climb mount fuji you must first find a path

If i broke a customers property i would pay to fix it, not expect them to pay for it. Hardly bank breaking.
