How do these work, do you have to disconnect the pole hose to slip it on, or can you fit it and work away all the time with it on?

I wouldn't mind getting this scraper but I fear it would hinder the cleaning between bars on Juliet balconys?

Fitted as in the video and have a little notch that slips between the pole clamp which prevents spinning.
I only have one which has a misshaped corner so wouldn't advise using without the scrubbing pad.
Simple and work a treat.

Can be taken off in a few seconds , and not always needs I keep mine in my Unger pouch and fit on when needed .

i have 3 or 4 of these scrapers.very handy although i use them without the white scrubbing pad as they usually end up  hanging off.great for stubborn bird muck.the scrubbing pads come in handy for cleaning off stubborn stains on frames/ledges with cif cream cleaner.

Ones I ordered to go on my ( carbon ) goose neck didn't seen to fit into the top clamp ( when the clamp was close the gap was too big for notch in the scraper ) .. I just put them in back of van and never bothered since - did I or am I doing something wrong ?.

If as the pads get older they do not grip as well, you can use an elastic band around them to keep them in place.

You need to focus more mate , less raving at the O2 on the lash

Found the scraper on its own to be a bit hit and miss (blunts easily) although I since read that you should keep a scrubbing pad on it to protect it when not being used. 
However, I find the scrubbing pads a lot easier to use at removing bird mess etc. but they can wear out quickly ( worth having a few in the van ) and as Alex has mentioned an elastic band really helps to keep them in place

Thanks Alex , however when I close the clamp it doesn't lock in ( the clamps tight locking on the gooseneck too ) but that little notch on the scraper doesn't lock into the clamp

The locating nodule on the Scraper does not need to be locked tight between the clamp jaws. This is purely for location purposes to stop it spinning in use. It just needs to sit down tight onto the clamp and have the locating nodule between the clamp jaws. A little bit of wiggle when in position is normal.
