Pump/controller shutting off
« on: January 22, 2015, 01:35:36 pm »
Hi people I'm after a bit of help. I've changed from the Orange aquadapter hose to clear plastic for my pole hose as the Orange eventually split from pinching it to stop flow. Now my pump fires up for 30 seconds or so and then the p flashes on the controller. It then takes 10 secs or so to fire up again then the same happens. By the time I've done the upstairs it seems to have sorted itself out. Any ideas. The clear tubing is a lot thicker as I'm having trouble stopping the flow by pinching it over. Do I need to calibrate. If so I have no clue how to do that. It's always just worked perfectly.

Many thanks

Dave Willis

Yep, increase cut off pressure. Cold weather doesn't help but I must also assume the new hose has a smaller internal bore giving rise to increased resistance thus controller doing it's job & cutting the pump out. Even if the hose is the same bore, if it has less flex than the older stuff, given the cold temperatures this could also be a factor.
