What's the legal bit for business names for instance if you had your initials on van but there was also a plumber with same initials
Or can you have say sparkle if there is no other one in your area but probably one in other area
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

If you're a sole trader then pretty much anything that isn't registered limited or trademarked is up for grabs.

Of you're going limited, you won't be able to register the name (or one too similar)
Of your sole trade, don't worry about it

How about these

Class Glass window cleaning.
No streaks allowed window cleaners
Squeaky Clean window cleaners
Inside and out window cleaning
Glass gleamers

The name needs to say a little about what you do.

How about :-

The Squee Gees

Then release a greatest hits album:

How Deep Is Your Dirt
More Than A Washing
How Can You Mend A Broken Pane

Only joking!! ;D ;D

I've not been sign written for my last 2 vans.
Got some calls from it but nothing I've still got.
Mainly cheapskates looking to save a solitary quid.

I think I'm in the minority with my view on that though.

I took my sign writing off my van. I seems that Splash and Dash was not doing me any favours.

By law, plumbers have priority over window cleaners when it comes to 'witty' business names.
The bloke fitting our bathroom told me.

As far as growing my business I reckon that getting the vans sign written was one of the biggest steps along the way. On the same level as the website and uniforms.

Sign writing has paid for itself a dozen times over for us, but you still need to do the other things as well.

It's if you want to register a business name it checks to see if someone is calling themselves that already.
