He did mine for me summer 2013, over the moon with it, cant fault it, I would say nearly 100% of my work
 comes from the website.

 Best regards

All you say 100% comes from your website, how much do you pay a month to get on google. How do you get your page noticed ? I've got a web page but don't know how to get it out there, I've got it advertised on my van but that's it. I was told you need to pay hundreds a month to get first page on google

someones pulling your leg, i managed to get my own window cleaning site on 1st page of google for window cleaning "my local town" keyword in about 4 months using nothing but worpress and yoast and googling how to seo.
tso host 5 quid a month hosting is all i pay on my own site

now my site isnt as good as a pro site in both design and seo but still 300 quid should get you a decent site with a 1st page rankings for  akeyword or two, expect to pay up to a grand for a really nice site or more i suppose, but monthly i wouldnt want to pay more than a tenner for hosting max

Well said - TSOhost are a fantastic company & they have all my hosting business, I couldn't recommend them more.

SEO is always better done yourself than outsourced - the companies that charge $200 a month to "get you first in google" are nearly all bad news,.. it does work short term but the techniques they use to get you up there fast are often dodgy & can have a negative impact long term,.. using Yoast SEO plugin with Wordpress is a great way to start, updating your blog every week really helps too, and keeping all your company social media accounts active (And getting interaction from your fans on them too) can play a big part too.

No one knows your company better than you, and no one will put more effort into it than you - so if you have the time do all the ongoing stuff yourself. ;)

You need to do your on-site titles, tags, keywords, descriptions & headings perfectly first of all, and then you use your blog page to add more keyword rich content. Once the main site is properly setup, having active social media accounts for your business helps, as well as a google places listing and listings in online business directories.

Even simple things like adding the website address to all your forum & e-mail signatures helps.  ;)

.org is cack for Google big fella.
I found out to my detriment.
You're doing ok penny wise, aintchya. Bung Nat £400 and don't worry about it again.
It'll be pennies well spent.

Pop me an e-mail mate & I'll talk you through it! info@avondhu-internet.com

There's 2 completely separate parts to getting your website in Google:

First you need to make sure your site is built in a way that makes it very easy for Google to understand who you are, what you do and what areas you cover - this is the "on-site" optimisation and up until recently this was often enough on its own.

Second is the "off-site"optimisation like having active social media accounts, getting a google places listing, having your website link in forum signatures and getting listed in local business directories etc etc. Google expects any website worth looking at to make a small splash in the pond,.. if there's no sign of your site outside of your site, you haven't made a splash, so Google will think you're unimportant.

Third (bonus SEO) is adding new, quality and unique content to your website regularly - usually by way of a blog. If you're going to spend money on SEO, this is where I'd recommend spending it. You can usually get content writers to knock up Google optimised blog posts for about £8 each (600 words),.. so £32 a month will get you 4 new blog posts every month and long lasting benefits from it. Personally I hate writing blog posts, so its one of the few things I recommend actually spending money on! Just be careful to get someone who's first language is English & who has a decent grasp of spelling & grammar as Google does notice poorly written content & it doesn't give nearly the same benefits. ;)
