After cleaning carpets at customers house yesterday i commented on their limestone floors and how nice they looked but would need looking after and cleaning at some time and i offer this service.  Basically there are three area's in the house with this flooring, very large kitchen, very large dining room and a small utility.  The tilers started in the utility and customer was not happy with result as tiler grouted tiles before sealing and then put sealer on top of grout haze, the two large area's were sealed before fitting and grouting and look fine.  The other issue is the limestone in the utility room are a different batch to the rest and  maybe not quite such good quality.  Customer has asked me if i can strip the small utility room approx. 10 ft x 12 ft and re-seal. The grout lines in this room are also pretty grubby. The limestone is honed by the way, i have some Extreme HD Tile & Grout cleaner left over from an old shop, what do i need to remove grout haze and existing sealer (not know) and what appropriate sealer should i use.

Hi Richard

On this occasion if there is grout haze present you have a couple of choices because it is a honed finish.

I would probably do it this way though!  Firstly pre wet the floor with clean water and then

1.  Apply the HDT&G Cleaner coupled with 220 honing powder.
2.  Allow to dwell then scrub using a black pad which should remove all the grout haze.
3.  Vac and then switch the pad over to a soft to med brush and now repeat clean (This will deep clean the grout).
4.  Switch back to a pad (White this time )  but use either 400 or 800 grit powder this time to close the surface back down.
5.  Finally thoroughly rinse and extract with clean water.

6.    Once thoroghly dry I would seal it with Miracle 511 Porous Plus or Miracle 511 H20

The only problem you then may have is they will realise how good it is and will probably get you to redo the rest
