Yeah great bit of kit, can't believe so many people mess about charging up battery's

i hardly do any mileage(usually 10 miles a day)

i only use my van for work

it takes 2 mins to reel my extension lead to my van after fill up(it takes me an hour to purify 500L DI only)
price higher/work harder!

I've had a lot of battery problems over the last few years. Been through 2 batteries in 19 months.
I ran the battery down doing one road where I hardly move all day, and because the pump is wired to the van battery I was stuck so I asked a custy for a jump start (embarrassed) so decided to get it sorted once and for all.
Went down to my usual tyre and battery place and this guy was there who has just rewired his camper van and said that I needed to have a leisure battery installed and offered to do it. So he rewired it all, split relay under the passenger seat and put the leisure battery in the same place.
Had it done 2 1/2 months ago and only go on a long journey once a week (60 miles round trip) the rest is within a 2 mile radius. No probs what's so ever.
Hopefully will last a while now.... Keep you posted!
Cheers Chez

I've never liked the idea of charging a leisure battery from the vans alternator - it puts a load on it that it wasn't designed for. I have a 85amp battery on my 650ltr system and I only need to charge every 2 or three days. I don't let it go that far because I charge the battery as I fill the tank every evening.

lol your a window cleaner not an auto elety thank god next you will be telling use not to run with the blowers on all day because it will over load the alternator

if you know how am alternator works in side and how its ups the amps for charging only when needed they you know it will be fine , we have done 50,000 miles this year with two batterys getting charged off the alternator with not a hit of a problem
