Truckmount Security
« on: April 18, 2006, 04:00:45 pm »
Hi all
Hope you are well!
I am looking to buy a new truckmount - pretty sure I will go with the Prochem Apex. The question is security of the van & contents. It concerns me tht I will be leaving my van side door open whilst I am 300+foot away. Does anyone have a solution or has anyone ever cut holes in the floor/door to accomodate the pipes??
Regards
Tim

Never had a problem myself but I think the easiest solution is to have a security shutter company make you up a steel mesh gate which you can fix to the interior of your sliding door. Have holes through this for hoses, access to controls etc. This would save cannibilising your van.

Tim,

The other thing you can do is plan the interior layout of the van so that the entire side door space is filled. For example put your water tank along side the bulkhead and push your machine to the right so it closes off the door. It would be a brave thief who would clamber over the machine while it is working to nick your spare chemicals.
The water tank would be light and easy to remove giving you brilliant access for maintenance of the blower etc. In my first TM van my Performer was installed too tight to the bulkhead preventing proper access for maintenance.

All the best
