Thanks Mick and Jakey. My van does list a couple of services other than windows but not over complicated. I like it kept simple.

Lots of walk ups when doing soffit fascia gutter work, or ' I've just seen your van...' type calls to the office - never underestimate the power of advertising your van!!

Looks like I'm the only one but I'm not sign written anymore.

Brought me minimal work, a lot of customers looking to save £1.
Nothing that was worth anything really.

I actually (when I got my last new van) didn't get sign written because I subbed a fair bit from a mate then. But the subbing got binned, 'cause he went mental.

New van time and I didn't want to get it done.
Subsequent motors-still not signed, and won't be.
I'm happier now I'm not sign written.

Got me loads of work, but I'm full up now so wouldn't get it done again if I was changing the van.

For me there is no such thing as "full" just more opportunities...

Got this done a couple of years ago, it works very well - lots of people say they recognise the van when they receive our leaflets or cards as the branding is all the same.

Definitely go for it.

our cost around 3k to wrap and I would want that back in new work with in 18 months on carpet cleaning  and as done so since 2006 when we started warping them

the quickest paid for itself with in 1 year the longest 18 months

with window cleaning we spend 400 pounds and it paid for it self in 8 months

hope this helps

After today, I'm starting to wonder.  I'm currently using a hire van while mine is undergoing repair.  I was just finishing a job when the hire company phoned me.  My customer's neighbour had phoned them because she didn't like where I was parked; it seems that the neighbour and the customer have issues with each other and the neighbour wanted to get me in the crossfire.
I was parked on shared roadway (not public highway) in a position that would not obstruct anyone.  Apparently, the deeds say that bit should be left clear for turning - though there is no signage to indicate this.  Normally I park on the customer's drive but it was full today.
Honestly, for the sake of 20 minutes parking 8 times a year (a lot less if driveway space is available).  If that's all she's got to worry about she should be feeling lucky.
I'm still wondering how I managed to (just about) keep it reasonably polite.
The irony is that I ended up parked there about 5 minutes longer due to the hassle of taking the call etc.

And, with perfect timing, this appeared in my inbox when I returned home:

Get it signwritten.  It'll pay for itself ten times over.

Make sure it's clear, concise and easy to read your contact details.

For me it all depends on what work you do and what new work you are after.
If your domestic then it will pay for itself and bring in new work in know time if your commercial then I would say there no harm in it but it very rarely brings anything in.

My last van was signed, but having just bought a new one I'm in to minds as to bother as I know longer target residential.
