VARIFLO + V11 controller
« on: November 16, 2014, 06:23:23 pm »
well ive decided to go with this controller after advice,        is it worth while getting the one shot remote fitted,  to flick on+off  when near van,   save having to return to van all the time,          do they actually work .

or just use a tap on pole hose i have

these are the same as liquid logic ,     am i right.

No I wouldnt.

I have two sets and not happy. I am taking my van back to Grippa to investigate. I can't believe they can be that poor.

Today I was slightly out of sight of the van and it would not switch on!

I've tried remotes in the past, the theory is great, but in practice they are a pain.
Even when you get a quick result from the signal it take the pump anywhere from 3 to 8 seconds to wind down and stop, then you have no physical stop of water so you are continually losing water, then at best 3 to 4 seconds for the pump to wind up, pump and replace water that already trickled out the brush/hose.

Look at aquataps or aquadaptors for better water control

Never understood why you'd need a remote. Stop end is all you need.

My thoughts exactly. It kind of contradicts itself.

Stopping the pump with an RF radio will be different to stopping the pump using DE. When a the control dead ends the pump due to a pole tap closing the hose line remains pressured with water through the line. Open the tap the control restarts the pump within 1 - 2 seconds. Because the line is pressured water flow appears to restart pretty much instantly.

An RF remote or similar device which will switch the pump means that the pressure in the line must dissipate so depending on the length of hose, Hose expansion, flow rates the pump stops but the water will flow for for a few seconds. On switching the pump back the line has to re pressure. this again can take a few seconds. The flow dynamics mean the system will appear slightly slower than it did prior to the RF.

As for range all this types of devices be they RF or other type are line of sight in much the same way as a car fob is. I have seen the remote operate from behind a building in some cases, raising the height of the antenna can help.

no remote then,      thanks guys, great help ;)

but the controller is ok,       ordering with a shurflo 5l/min + acessories.

i hope i dont regret this change over,      it will take a while to get used to hose reel   in and out,     reeling in .

ive been wanting to change over though for a while,    if i dont do it i will never know.

id need it for bigger buildings i can now quote for knowing i have the power to do them

i cant go upto a big council or corporate building with a backpack in tow,   i think all the work would blow it up.

its still a great device and done me well, and still will,  especially when i dont want to leave my doors open in some areas

You will get a user guide and fitting information with the controller. Follow those and setting up the control is straightforward.
Remember to fit the fuse supplied in line and once calibrated you will find flow rates that best suit you.
