What do you think of this van?

Could never afford a new transit custom but now the 2nd hand ones are starting to come on the market.

Check out the mileage i don't think i've done that mileage in 10 years lol. If the body work was in really good condition do you think it would be a good buy given the mileage in such a short space of time? Im after something much bigger than my current berlingo i want to start gutter cleaning with my own generator.

Thanks

Could be their ex parts delivery van. I was offered a 6 month old van with 32k on the clock.

You will get maybe 2 years warranty.

It's got the better sized engine and decent capacity being a 290

I've had mine since May and I love it. Getting the new connect as well as driven that and it's fab.

The engine is proven as its a mk7 lump.

I wouldn't worry about the milage- it's got another 200k in it!! ;D Look after it, service regular & it should be no trouble. ;)

This comment is something I'd have said 10 years ago.

The modern engines are capable of 300,000+ miles if looked after and serviced correctly.

I dont meen for reliability i meen for devaluation, i would like to keep that van between 2-3 years and expect it to have around 160k afterwards with a few more marks here and there. And vans with 160k no matter what shape go for pennys!

So i would much rather find a van mayby 2009plate with the same milage and probs only pay 6k? Then when it comes to sell it on in 2
Or 3 years you will have lost a lot less overall i would assume.

Plus 10k can buy you a lot of van without that image

Might be ok up and down the motorway but my sons VW couldn't get past 70K !!! Look at the trouble people get with Renaults and Vivaro's.

I have had one for months as courtesy vans. They do 32 to 36 mpg. Check what it says on dash. The ride is soft and they drive like a car
Too soft to carry weight.
Inertia is basic, but ok
Some intermittently dive when setting off. Anti stall device or some thing..its dangerous. Doesn't happen on them all
Get a short wheel base m7 transit. Same MPG, carry more. Seats are better, but don't drive as easy
