WASTE TANK CLEANING AFTER A JOB?
« on: April 12, 2006, 11:53:09 am »
Yesterday after I finished a job I came up with a really good idea on how to clean your waste tank.
After every job I am sure everyone has a bit of pre spray left in their canister well I use the left over pre spray  to rinse out my waste tank. bloody amazing results.

Do people do this already or is it a good idea or what?

cheers

Yes I used to do this, it saves a lot time and stops the tank from getting too dirty and smelling.
My latest machine has a recirculating pump which you can use to do this, and pre-spray carpets with. Neat.

Hi,

With our Steempro we allways have a bit left in the solution tank after finishing a job.  The easiest way to get rid of this is to empty the machine then stick the vac hose into the solution tank.

That way you can clean the hoses and tank in one hit.

A better method than using the vac hose which can sometimes cause foaming and consequently getting solution into the vac motor, is to have a spare male connector. Fit this to the end of your solution hose and you have a powerful hose to wash out the waste tank including all the nooks and crannies.

Any Solution left in tank can be sprayed with a hand tool,
I use this at the end of each day with my Ninja.

95002 jet at full pressure. Enough lpm to rinse, enough back pressure to blast (at 400 - 500 psi) and a broad enough spray to reach difficult area's. Not exactly ground breaking rocket science though. This basic machine maintenance.
