I sold some old equipment at the weekend and two people that have a few guys on trad where asking about setups, but I could only answer with the knowledge of a DI user. I haven't got a clue about RO and where the wastage goes and like your asking what would be beneficial for the user of a low TDS.
If you're not metered then about 80ppm is a point where you'll quickly recoup the cost of buying an RO - - if you are on a meter 100 - 120ppm.Above 150ppm you'd be nuts to use DI only.
