Best Pole/Brush/Jet combo for 3rd floor windows
« on: October 02, 2014, 09:22:33 pm »
Hi Guy's,
Just picked up several houses with 3rd story bay windows. Struggling to rinse off with my CLX 27, duel trim brush and pencil jet set-up I'm nearly 50 and not a young pup anymore. Anyone have any ideas to stop the tears as I pull the pole away from the glass to rinse!  :'(
Thanks, Phil...

Switch to fan jets and rinse on, junk the CLX get an slx, lighter, less bend

Yes agreed clx poles are budget poles and bend far to much and are only good for the run of the mill easy access houses with no awkward angles. Slx/extreme poles are in another level. Cant comment on fans as never used them but i find normal pencil jets ideal with a gardiners sill brush.

You're overdoing it. You can rinse with your brush on, pencils or fans. Go do a test on your own windows and you'll find out.

Just seen the other replies telling you to get an SLX, whilst undoubtedly an SLX is a superior pole it will not help you to rinse off the glass. Do not rinse off the glass at 27 foot is what i'm saying.

Quicker and easier rinsing brush on windows than off even on glass that sheet really well. Just use a good rinse on method and a decent brush. Mad rinsing brush off even on domestic bedroom windows. Only quicker rinsing brush off on patio doors that sheet well.

i prefer rinsing off,thats when i do rinse ;D

Personally dont have a problem third floor with a clx
holding the brush a couple of inches off the glass is hardly a
strain.

But if the chap is physically struggling maybe he should change
his pole and his method of rinsing :)

I think he means 3rd storey dormer windows which are in the roof, these can be tricky to rinse holding
the brush of the glass as you need to stand further back from the property to get at them.
I have a few like that and they are back busters even with a SLX which I use.
Rinse with the brush on the glass and just lift it off a few inches from the bottom this will stop any debris stuck
in the brush remaining on the glass.

I'll stick me neck out even further and suggest that he posts in the Window Cleaning Section and asks...."Best Pole/Brush/Jet combo for 3rd floor windows".
