i passed a windy today , chatting to him as i do,  i noticed he has a van set up,   i noticed he didnt have a controller fitted to his pump,,     he had his pump wired  and connected to his battery,     meaning when he finished he just  disconnected his clip from battery all the time.       he was using too much water though, through the pump pressure.

if he didnt want a controller he could just use a controller switch as you have on backpacks.   looks like he didnt like spending his cash on equipment

maybe a simple senario if your controller f..cs up

seems the easy option if not wanting to spend much

Plenty work without a flow controller, in fact I was wfp before any controllers came to market.
I used 1/2" hose then too !  At least I had an inline fuse and switch between the battery and pump though !

I don't use one either, just an on/off switch for the pump which has had the pressure switch turned down then a tap on the hose, one less thing to go wrong

how do you turn the pressure down on the pump,  ive read this b4, but cant find it.

if you dont want much pressure would you not be best getting a small backpack pump off ebay,     i have never thought  this easy way .untill i seen it in working mode.

can you fit some kind of on/off switch on the pump , instead of taking the lead off the battery every time you stop
i have a pump lying around , i may try this set up b4 i get going seriously.

Yes I have wired an on off switch by the rear door and the pump and battery are near the bulkhead and to turn the pressure down there is a small Allen key screw on the pump but tbh you don't need to I was just messing with it one day and left it on a lower pressure but I have noticed that the pump doesn't have to work as hard and may even be saving power but i have a huge battery so its not something i worry about.

johnny, depends which pump you have as to whether or not it has adjustment for pressure switch. As blastoff has mentioned there is a grub screw allen key adjustment on the shurflow that I have, my vyair pump prior to that did not, can't vouch for other makes.
Fit an inline waterproof switch between battery and pump such as this

I don't have a controller but I do have a tap on the pole hose which I use a bit.
Never altered pressure on my shurflo.
I don't use that much water 350 litres will comfortably do 25 houses with a fair bit spare.

Gordon bennet,        how and  what does this switch do.       where would it be fitted.      what is the benefit.

theres a whole lot of different issues surrounding a van set-up,     i will have to get an insight into a different way of working ,      than just charging a backpack up and moving around. ,
