Gardiner slx18 or 22 for everyday work?
« on: September 24, 2014, 05:07:22 pm »
Hi everyone,

I'm not sure weather the 18 ft is slightly too limiting on everyday work? Is the 22 a better option. I've got a 25ft Phoenix carbon that I use for 3 story houses, so
Is the 18ft or 22ft slx2 best for standard houses? Is the 18 ft ever too short when reaching round porches etc?

Thanks for any heads up!

25'.
18 with an Extreme brush. Amazing difference. I get the 25 out for about 3 houses a day.

Slx25 for everyday work if you want to get  3 story and over extensions and conservatorys.

Just what I want to here someone who's used it! So looks like the 18ft is the one, I want as light as possible for maintainance cleans so Will probably go for the 18 with extreme brush, just hoping it reaches over conservatories etc? As said, I have a 25ft Phoenix already, so the idea is to get a lightweight pole and brush for average houses. My only concern is that the 18 May be that bit too short for reaching over front porches and conservatorys...

i use 22 but on some 3 storeys and above certain conservatorys it can be touch and go so i'd recommend 25 for the sake of a teeny bit of weight.

The 18ft length is a great length for everyday domestic work and will reach over all standard porches etc.

As you already have a 25ft in the van it does mean that you can be slightly more focused with your domestic pole needs - so the 18ft will be ideal.

Alex what's the price for an 18ft with xtreme brush? Also what's the best xtreme brush for all purpose cleaning in the xtreme range?

£173 + VAT - http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/SLX-II-Carbon-Pole--SLX_18.html

Probably the Xtreme Medium-Mixed would be my choice. This comes as a free option with the SLX-18

I agree  with the 18 footer
I use one 95% of the time.
Some days I don't bother taking any other poles
on my 4 bed detached Redrow houses it will reach everything

Yes the 18ft is great. I use it for all 2 stories. Lovely and light.

the UL means Ultra light its a light section that goes on the RED section.  It gives you a 4 extra feet.  Its actually nice and light, I have been testing it for this week.

for me i only need 2 poles

extreme 25  (everyday pole)

extreme 47 (higher level work)

an 18 or 22 is just too short for a fair few windows of my everyday work.

i do have an emergency 22 slx but never had to use it yet since i bought the extremes! ;D
price higher/work harder!

How old is your extreme daz? I think me and you are similar in that were sole traders and look after our equipment etc, but if the extremes wear out too quickly it might put me off.

As long as I can get three years out of it I'd be happy.
