You lot are progressively becoming more like old women
everyday ;D

The difference between brushes in weight is tiny now
when i first started  i was using a 24ft universal pole with
a vikan sill brush on it anything lighter than that lot was a real
bonus.

Still got a flocked vikan sill brush use it to clean my car ;D

I personally like gardiners sill brushes,i only work up to
30ft max so the tiny weight saving for a lighter brush is pointless
to me for low level work :)
Wrong! I now use for most work an SLX18 with an Extreme brush. The difference is HOOJ!

Thats because you are girly wearing a floral print dress matching
handbag slingbacks and a physical capability to match ;D

when your smashing through loads of maintenance window cleaning work on a daily basis using extreme poles you gotta use extreme brushes unless the windows are very dirty.the difference is massive IMO in how you feel at the end of the day/week/month/year!

esp when cleaning awkward windows over connys/extensions,3 storey and higher. :)
price higher/work harder!

gary im a big guy.6ft 2 in and 17 stone(not fat though anymore!)work out at the gym a few times a week(bike, free weights etc) but even i know its common sense to use the best lightest equipment you can afford when your poling all day on various different properties.

no point making your working day harder is it?

i dont believe in being a cheapskate when it comes to tools for my business as it makes me far more productive and its reflected in much higher earnings over the last few years.best thing ive done for my business! :D

My days are very easy generally ;)

Lighter gear makes sense especially to what we were forced to use
less than a decade ago but some of the difference in weight of these
brushes are now changing at tens of grams not hundreds and there
is only so far you can go before you lose cleaning power and you have
to increase the movement yo to make up the difference and
so increase chance of RSI injury.

Seems to counter what you are trying to achieve far as im concerned

gardiners sill brush is light enough far as im concerned and not far
off the cleaning power of the vikan sill

You're correct. You're not fat. According to the NHS BMI Caculator you're obese. Check it out.

Also you're heavier than Frank Bruno when he was fighting. You advocate making your working day easier and then advocate going to the gym ?
Can you explain this juxtaposition ?

Oh, nearly forgot!! I only use extremes. And i'm not fat  ;D

I use Extreme brushes but they are all poor scrubbers in my opinion. They don't touch insect poo or pollen and struggle with snail trails and are next to useless on conservatory roof cleans - particularly glass.

However, I still use them and have tried just just about every brush in the range but due to their light weight I rarely use anything else. The flocked Superlight seems to have the most power but it feels like a brick after the Extremes. Best to have one of each - Superlight and Extreme then swap when needed.

The heavy brushes are difficult to flick around the glass on a swivel - which is another reason I stick to the lightest brushes.

i agree dave.the flocked supalite is great on a 90degree gooseneck for glass conny roofs, solar panels and high velux windows.for add ons like f/s/g cleans and polycarbon roofs i usually use a sill brush.

;D ;D ;D none of the brushes we have now especially regarding
to gardiner range could remotely be considered heavy.

Bunch of old women the lot of you ;D

The thing is Dave that you struggle whatever brush you use.  ;D

Maybe the new gardiner brushes coming out will be a fix in between the two brushes now to solve both weight + scrubbing power. ::)roll

I think the above will be true. However, I've used up my black/blue Gardiner hybrid Xtreme brush and have tried the others, but the blue bristles of the hybrid brush certainly got the snail trails off quicker than all the others. Desperately needed a new brush, but didn't think the Xtremes did a good enough job on the snail trail, bee poop and stubborn bird poop.
I went off Lee Gls recommendation of the Tecbuk hybrid with boars hair in the middle, and, got to say I'm very impressed. Deals with all the above problems much more swiftly than the Xtreme. Worth the money. Bit heavier though but not hugely.
