Generator in van
«

Got a generator yesterday and ideally need to leave it in the van whilst using it.
I know the dangers of fumes etc, but have a metal bulkhead, and will obviously leave the doors open whilst in use.
Anyone else run theirs in their van?

Yes, leave all the doors open, and point the exhaust out of the back doors

i do the same but as my vac is 1800 watts I'm thinking of getting a small inverter generator like this -

lightweight so easy to just lift out of van .

My brother is a mobile car valeter, so he uses the generator in his van all the time, not sure what he has set up to deal with the exhaust fumes though.

Car valeter here. I have mine at the side sliding door, just leave doors open or window down tbh. Though about piping the exhaust outside, but dont really use it that often, hate using the noisy smelly thing tbh

Hi Mick, I got fed up lifting generator in and out of van so bought a trailer for my van to store gutter clearing gear, makes life a lot easier and no problem with exhaust fumes.

Got mine bolted in a trailer with a hole cut in the side in-line with the exhaust. Never use it any more can't be arsed with it all. Looks ridiculous for residential work to be honest.

Im trying out some evening canvassers during this winter, and will be cleaning the gutters in the day, so most times will need the genny.
