I would like to share my story with you all about my life.

I have been in jail for over 4 years, i was part of a fraud & money laundering gang, one of the biggest mistakes off my life.  I have been out of the cell since march 2012. I got in to a lot of bother when i was younger, whilst i was in jail i was very upset i could not see my daughter grow up, i had made plans for when i get out as i did not want to hit my old habits again as i knew that my life was running away from me and i could not lose my daughter.

One day in the cell i decided i wanted to build my own window cleaning round when i get out. I done my research for months, I studied everything related to the window cleaning sector and made a plan. This plan was for myself my family and last but not least my daughter !

I got told by all friends & family that i should not follow up this plan as it would be a failure.  My friends & family told me when i come out of jail i must get a job, deep down i really wanted to be a window cleaner. I ignored all the comments and followed my own dreams, deep down in my heart i knew i could do it because i was confident and determined about coming this far.

I got kitted out with the reach N wash system and was ready to go. The first day of business i started to knock on doors and it was the worst feeling ever, deep down i said to myself if i can stick to this it will pay off. I went through a lot of bad paying customers and time wasting customers to get to where i am today. I literally have worked hard nearly every day of my life since i came out of jail aswell as spending time with my lovely daughter and family.

I now have a full round and employ 1 full time worker and work 45 hours per week and after all wages and tax and business cost i earn £1,000 per week.

The jobcentre has also helped me with grants for employing a fulltime staff so a lot of credit to them. I also do voluntary work each sunday at a community youth gathering. The aim of the community gathering is to help the youth not to throw their lives away and do something which they can later be proud off.

If you want to do well in your business pick out the most important thing in your life at this present time (e.g your mother or kids)  now go out their and knock on them doors for them, make them proud of you. In the end it will be worth it.

I am very happy that i have changed my life around and i hope this story can inspire a lot of people out their that are struggling in the business.

Thank You

Leon

Good on you Leon, just shows what a strong character you have. Most important thing in life is family, and you recognised that and did what had to be done to secure a future for you all. Hope you and your family go from strength to strength, best of luck.

In Scotland you probably wouldn't have got a license.
Do you share this story with your customers.
Going from money laundering to clearing £1000 per week sounds?

'Deep down I wanted to be a window cleaner'?

After coming out of jail, 'got kitted up with a reach and wash system'?

Yeah, sure.

Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.

Why would he not have got a licence in scotland? I know of guys with criminal records for drug dealing n all sorts who are licensed. The licence is nothing more than a way for council to get money from you. It is not enforced by policd or anything really.

I have had to sit in front of a council committee on more than one occasion because the police have refused to ok the application for employees.

It does happen.

You've been on a journey, a rollercoaster ride and met Simon Cowell along the way?

It is enforced by the police.

When you apply for a license it firstly gets sent to the police force, and they can either object or grant. It then goes to benefits and customs to make sure you aren't on the brew.

If the police object you have to go to hearings to see if you can get it granted. Anyone with a background of theft have next to no chance of getting a license though. Unless they can prove they are a changed person etc.

Licenses are a good thing up here. :)
