I had a call today from a construction company who we provide builders cleans for, they laid an indian sandstone patio 6 months ago in a beer garden as part of the re-furb, on the 6 month review it was picked up that there is a trail of grease coming directly from the kitchen door to tables on the patio, obviously the foot flow from waiting on staff, they tried to clean it a couple of weeks ago with brick acid and oven cleaner (GOT TO LOVE BUILDERS), now apparently its getting worse, I was thinking powerwash, flat surface cleaner, then I asked had the stone ever been sealed, answer no, will the sandstone have absorbed the grease and what cleaning method would be the best, after cleaning if it was successful would it be worth sealing with Miracle 511 seal & enhance which Kevin supplies.

It is getting worse because the builders have altered the surface by acid cleaning it.  Furthermore they probably used it neat.  The stone needs to be treated with a poultice mixed with a sealing and coating remover and then thoroughly cleaned and then sealed.  Make sure you do a test area first and don't over promise.

LTP Spot and Stain remover and Fullers Earth may do the trick. It can be a slow process though, and pricey.
