As a general rule, HF4 with booster pump, HF5 if running on just tap pressure

Gaps water..

Hf4 with booster pump gives better rejection rates at 99% than hf5 98%

Hf5 off the tap gives better rejection and product water than hf4 and that's it really :-)

Ring June at gaps.

I don't get 99% rejection from my Hf4 and never have.
Mines probably 97% but that's still very acceptable.

The rejection rates means the performance of the filters and how many dissolvable parts it strips from the waters Tds

Look on gaps water it explains everything on there I think

Franchisees' rejection rates with HF4 and booster are 97% - 98%

Richy, rejection rate is % of impurities removed, not waste ratio.  So, mine takes water from 300ppm to 6ppm. (300-6) = 294.  294/300 = 98%.  Waste ratio is completely different.

My tap water is about 220, when new my 4040 took it down to 2ppm its now going on 6 years old and still gets
the water to 20ppm.
Not bad considering I rarely change the pre filters.

Thanks Vin, I didn't  know what rejection rate was either, you explained in simple easy to understand language, good post.

Best regards

Most tap water pressure is well below what a HF5 considers 'low pressure'. HF5 perform well for a while (better than a HF4) but tend to block up a lot faster. You will get a longer life from HF4 if looked after.
