Think I will dig out the old SLX this weekend and upgrade the clamps I've had for several months.
I've got the new CLX27, CLX22 and the old CLX27 and the old SLX22 with an extension.
Thinking of a Chris Dawber / Polz n Bladz type test in the garden (without the video)
I need to see this for myself and feel the difference. And hopefully I have justified buying the new CLX27.

You will certainly see a difference in a CLX27 and an SLX30 at that height I would have went for a SLX.
But again the CLX is still a good pole for the money.

what the people who have used both are saying is at 18ft you wont notice it enough to justify the extra price.

Yes, apart from Jonny 87, Pure H2O and 8weekly, all of whom are very specific in saying that the SLX-18 is a better bet because it's more rigid.  If you ignore their posts then, yes, "what the people who have used both are saying is at 18ft you wont notice it enough to justify the extra price."

So, that's three responders out of five saying the SLX is worth the extra.  But if you ignore them then you're right, everyone thinks it's not worth it.  Apart from the majority who think it is.  But ignore them.

If I had known my post would have started a brawl around the handbags then I'd still have posted!  ;D
