[H20cleaning]

I was advised to buy some cheap printer ink rather than pay the ridiculous store prices, and it worked great.
However my last ink cartridge was registering as half full yet it wasnt printing very well, it was almost asif the ink had run dry.
So i ordered new ones and they worked straight away but there doing the same now and only 3 says old!!

Anyone know what i can do?

Well before i do that it would be worth asking on here for useful help off others who might experience the same problems.
After all they are only £7 for 2

Hit the ink cartridge with a club hammer.
The ink will come flooding out.
Works every time.

Which make ??

Hp ones try a tissue with a little solvent cleaner on and clean the metal contact strip, (print head) this should pull out some ink then they usually work.

In the past cheap hp carts have lead to bad print quality and the printer not recognising genuine hp carts brand new.

Costs a bit, then (depending on how much colour you use) about 1 - 1.5 p per page using manufacturer cartridges that give perfect results every single time.  Prints on both sides of the paper, so you save a mint on paper.

Pays for itself in no time at all.

I have been filling up the cartridges in my printer myself for the last couple of years - saves me an absolute fortune. I buy a big bottle of printer ink from ebay for about a fiver and I can get about 20 refills out of it - which would cost around £250 if I bought a new cartridge each time. It's exactly what th3 refill shops do.

Epson printers are the best to have for high volume printing because you can buy very cheap refillable ones on ebay.  spent about £20 and have enough for about the year, and I print my invoices

+1   I've had the same cartridge for years and refilled it hundreds of times with asda or tesco refill ink which costs about a fiver. Saves me a fortune on cartridges.

Its a false economy. Buy genuine cartridges.... Or join the new HP monthly payment scheme for selected printers

Epson 4535 workforce. I use a lot of ink and I get 3/4 months off one black ink cartridge which cost £15-£20. Best printer I've owned.

Been there buying cheap fake cartridges, it's not worth the hassle.

It's not difficult at all. And as for claiming against tax you are only saving 20% of the cost - the other 80% you are directly paying for out of your pocket. I prefer to save the money for myself but I understand that some apply a cost/benefit analysis.

Ink cartridges are notorious for drying out especially if not used very often in a heated environment.
Pour a little Isopropyl Alcohol in a saucer and sit the base of the cartridge in it for a few minutes to dissolve the hardened ink from the jets -  dry with a tissue and try again it usually gives an improvement.
This only works with cartridges with integrated print head if you have separate cartridges and print heads then try the same with the print head - some are not removable and require dismantling the printer to get them out!!!
