Hi All

Just interested on who does schools what do you think about doing them, how many do you do.

I do a few, probably Dean Taberna, JV Price & others do a lot more. What do you think of them. I have some well priced some average priced & some bad priced.  I plan to sit down & go through every job to check its value to see if they re worth it. One thing though they pay fast, ive had one pay within 4 days of invoice, that's good.

I am looking to offer extra services, Gutter Cleaning, Fascia, Cladding, Skylights & Pressure Washing etc. Pricing is difficult but there is definitely an opportunity looking at the state of some of them. Does anybody do similar whats the response.

Cheers Gary

pricing can be difficult as they really cant afford the service was watching breakfast on bbc the other day and class number r going up etc due to budgets, ive done a fair few in the past and yes had some good priced one and some bad priced ones, a lot of them if under 500quid can pay up front on credit card, but very good payers, can be quite dirty jobs due to irregular frequency yet you struggle to budget for extra time needed to be spent

gav camm helped me out on quite a few when i first started getting them

I do a few.
One thing I did notice was when they went to 'academy' they seemed to care less about price.
Now, a few years on, I don't think the grass is as green as it looked from afar.
I've lost a few-one quite a long running contract.
All the schools/college etc we do pay extremely well.
But they only get done once or twice a year.
Got the penultimate school tomorrow-really long day.
Then an easy primary school next week.
Happy days.

I find them hard to price.  Really important you have it written down whether you are removing blue tack etc off the windows and whether youre cleaning internal doors etc.  It makes a nice change abd theyre generally nice to work for and appreciative.  Only trouble is i dont get them on great hourly rates cos i start to feel guilty then

I do a small primary school once a year. I ckean it at the end of august before kids are back to school. I priced a large school last week and was given the walk around and a history lesson by the school estate manager. I priced quite high as I wasn't bothered if I got it or not as their was no way I was told i could do it on a weekend . It means I'd have to clean it when a load of noisy irritating kids were running riot everywhere and getting on my nerves!  >:(

I wouldn't bother if I was you, I have priced a few with a high price, as they usually only want an annual clean.

Think of the money!

I've just subbed my last school so my penultimate school today became my last one.
Don't know why but it's only just dawned on me that it is actually my best paying single day of the year.
Really, really hard work and a silly early start but the pennies don't lie.
Happy days.
