Advice needed for tender
«
on:
August 27, 2014, 12:19:43 am »
Hi All,
We have just been asked to tender for a big contract, much bigger than we have on our books already. We have some insider knowledge that helps so know how many hrs/staff etc that the current company have in there but are struggling with some of the other bits:
Costings
Contracts
Method statements
Tupe
Any help would be greatly appreciated

What stuff do you need to know about with contracts and tupe?
Costing wise is down to you work out how much tupe staff are currently on and how much you are obviously going to want to make on top of that.
Method statements cant the HSE help you with that?

In regards to TUPE you will have to contact the outgoing contractor to get staffs T & C`s - if they are a decent company they should provide you with the correct info if not it can be a nightmare.
I always stipulate that any tender prices issued are liable to potential change if the TUPE info is not forthcoming or it is incorrect (Ive known outgoing companies inflate wages and entitlements to make the take over difficult or financially impossible) so try and get them to pass this all over to you pronto!

With all due respect if you are missing all these key 'bits' I would question if you should be taking on a sizeable contract. These are not just 'bits' that are chucked into a quote, they need to be understood and be part of your business. You shouldn't need 'insider knowledge' as the number of staff and hours etc will be provided by the incumbent provider and is always provided during the tender process. It would appear that the 'bits' you are struggling with are the whole thing??
