Iv had 4 sign up but when iv filled in there name etc they haven't confirmed the next email so they are not actually set up,also is there a way of requesting outstanding debt?

That sounds like you are filling in the form for the customer? Be careful on that. Gocardless do know

I filled out the part where it asks for name email address and reference,sent that over for confirmation and heard nothing back.
I have sent reminders and handed out letters and tryed to push as much as poss    but it will take time and a few more reminders,preferably face to face

You should be ok on that then, i thought you was setting the direct debit up with password/email
