I generally pass on gutter work to a fellow windy, but I have been toying with the idea of a re guttervac for months for when I take someone on. I was chatting to someone the other day and with his vac he reckons he still has to get the ladder out for anything growing in the gutter. His vac is 1200w which seems low on power to me.

My question is, can you get everything from the ground? I'm not worried about down pipes, as I will only be offering a guttervac service - and will make this clear.

You can get it all from the ground, but you will need a powerful vacuum, and a decent few attatchments to get the awkward stuff out of the swan necks, and the rooted sruff.

Suppose the gutter vacs do work for some people. id far rather jump up the ladder and do it by hand, then i can see any blockages in the downpipes etc...

No point in cleaning gutters out if your going to be leaving the down pipes surely...

For all the time it takes to jump up and throw your hand down it, does a gutter vac really come into it?

Much slower though going up and down the ladder and obviously not as safe.

We use a Gopro camera to inspect the gutters to ensure they are clear.

Not always. On the gutters with a tile overhang almost covering them you struggle to get your fingers in never mind a crevice tool. And some narrow corners (above extensions) you can't get due to brackets etc..
 But yes, on nice "open type " gutters they're great.  And will pull root systems out, in conjucntion with the hook attachment.
