No it doesn't Craigp ;D

But if you're happy with your knock off and convinced it does the job why are you so defensive?

Paul, with all respect mate the one which cost you a tenner is completely different to the one I construct.
That's why it cost you a tenner lol  ;D

Torch and batteries arrived and tested the torch off Ebay today in an empty property where the previous owner had a dog.
After all the comments on how about how ineffective it was going to be I wasnt expecting very much but it exceeded all my expectations and Im very pleased with my purchase. It showed up all the pools and loads of other stuff too. The customer was impressed and so was I.
There may well be much better torches available but for £20 all in, Im happy.
No offence to anyone.

the thing is that for our work it is not the best wavelenght

what about? : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ultrafire-G60-3w-UV-Ultraviolet-365nm-LED-Flashlight-Torch-/150985224675?pt=UK_SportsLeisure_Camping_LightsLanternsTorches&hash=item23276bb1e3#shpCntId

That's a3w torch, the new 5 w are more powerfull, you don't need yellow glasses for them, and only a little dearer  ;)

Poul, do not mean that, the thing is everyone is buying the torches with 395nm wavelengh when for our job around 370nm is better for urine and other liquids. Anyway from what i can read on internet.
Possible is that 3w torch with 370nm will be better then 5w with 395nm uv light.

So basically you chaps are walking around in the dark with the curtains closed, with weird looking glasses on, weighing up which make of torch is the best one to use to spot a load of dog urine?

Is this topic a wind up?

Sorry but comparing these cheap torches found on eBay to the ones I build is like comparing a cheap splash and dash service with a more expensive better quality service... Both appear to do the same thing to people who don't know any better lol

Just make video showing what you are talking about. Till now I only seen your video and the video of the cheap one and wasnt worse.
Make a video showing yours and cheap one in one the same room.

I have made a video comparing a cheap £20 torch and mine, it was made ages ago when I first started building them.
http://youtu.be/fYSeQm8EoSE
No doubt you would want to see me comparing the 20+ cheap ones on eBay right now... That's not going to happen I'm afraid!!
Like I said before... The LED modules I use cost more than the torches :-)
