Wouldn't employ a smoker. Simply because they smell.

How does he smoke that many when you do 300 miles a day? He smoke in the van?

Common sense here, when over the years we've had various different people who worked for us and smoked.  The rules for us where simple.
No smoking in van
No smoking on customers property
No dumping fAg buts outside a customers house or our house in morning!!!
A quick fAg when/if we  (the boss) are collecting money from job is allowed but when the bosses are back, time to go no waiting to finish fAg!!!!

The last guy that worked for us who was a diamond actually used to ask if he could have a fAg!!  A little too polite but he got it, as me or my business partner dont smoke why do we want to sit around and wait for him to have a "quick" 5 min fAg 10 times a day.

Funny little story here, many years ago the first lad we ever employed we never thought about smoking or mobile usage. A good few weeks after he started and was settled in, found him up a adder fAg in mouth on his mobile  ::)roll to his bird!!   LOL   Well that stopped and smoking and mobile use was talked about!!  Crazy!!
Oooooo that is shiny!!

What about hands free mobiles?

Just made me think-I'm on the phone most of the day!
If I wasn't hands free, I wouldn't get any work done!

have to say this is a massive problem for me as the guys go on build cleans all over the country. I've tried to tell them not to do it on site but because the builders are outside having a fAg, they then think its alright. Really annoys me but unless Im on site how can I control it? I think it looks quite un-professional and they just don't get how bad it can look sometimes. One thing that did make me smile was one day the team came back from Leeds after doing a WH Smiths looking rather sorry for themselves - each one of them had been fined for flicking the fAg buts on the floor and the town wardens caught them. Small victory!

What rules do you as employers have concerning those employees of yours that smoke at work.
That they have to 'save me' on every cig they smoke.
The number of peevish staff I've had to let go is frightening.
I bet Jussa always saves last blast out of the paw.
