« on: August 06, 2014, 04:16:15 pm »
When plugging the charger into the adapter, a red light comes on, turn the plug the other way (it fit's both way's) a green light comes on, what is the right way anyone?
Also, the charge indicator, is it charged when the dial is to the left (in red) or to the right (in green)? Tis written in Chineese and me no understandie.

Thank's in advance for any help.

V3 Jonny, The adapter at the wall plug can take the two prong charger plug in any position. It's got me well confused as to what I am actually doing .

HI Ronnie

I will check this all out for you and get back to you with an answer. Usually the light on the charger should be red to start with - then it can turn green when charged.

Don't think mine does that but I'll check.

Also, you can run the pump with the dial only, what is the switch for? Again all in Chinese?

The pump has two separate controls. The dial is for using the pump with the flow controller and will go from 0.35 lpm up to 2.3lpm. The on/off switch is if you just want to use the pump at full speed.

I have both Gardiner's backpacks, the v2 has allows you to set the variable control speed, then can be switched off leaving the speed set. The v3 has to be turn off with the dial, thus losing the set variable speed every time. To me the v2 is the better control set up. Could a three way on/off switch like the v2 be footed to the v3?

A 3-way switch could probably be designed as on the last backpack. It would be a little more complex though and we have tried to keep the wiring and design as simple as possible for reliability. I will give it some thought.

Hi Ron

I have checked this out for myself and the charger does not matter which way it is plugged into the adapter. If the charger is showing green it will mean either:

1.The plug is not plugged into the socket on the backpack correctly (or not plugged in at all) which will then display green on the charger unit.
2. The battery is fully charged.

It will only display the red light on the charging unit when plugged in and properly connected to a backpack without a full battery charge.

I will provide further voltmeter information soon.

Hi Ron

If you drop me an email I can provide you with a detailed volt meter guide for the backpack. This will also be posted on the backpack product page soon.
