What exactly is a "standard" ro? Ez-pure is just a 21-40, that's pretty standard is it not?
It's just a drainage tube with an ro membrane in isn't it? What does a standard one look like?

^^^^ Yes, thanks, that's the one. I've two of 'em torpedo things membranes on top of mine; it must produce at least 600 litres a day.
The same one has lasted me about 8 years now, though to be fair I have changed all the filter housings, the metal frame thing they're screwed on (it went all rusty) and replaced the torpedo things on top; along with all the filter hose and John Guest fittings. But still, 8 years is pretty good value.

'Ive had this broom for 12 years...its had 8 new heads, and 12 new handles but its lasted 12 years'

'Ive had this broom for 12 years...its had 8 new heads, and 12 new handles but its lasted 12 years' It's still the same RO/DI unit though! An analogy could be made about you. You were born and since then all of your atoms have been replaced with different atoms (that used to belong to other stuff); yet you are still you. Your mum might get your baby photos out and say "This is Don Kee when he was 18 months old!", but was it really you if you've got a whole bunch of different atoms to when you were that age?So my RO/DI is still the same one I got 8 years ago. Isn't it?
Depends on how you define yourself...
