Fairly small and basic, only 2 t0 3 hours, including tidying up. Therefore charge at least half a day.

£300, not just saying that to be the highest price so far but it needs cleaning then treating with hypo, that's what I would charge

£70 must be a joke? After expenses you're left with not a very good hourly rate.

Any less than £150 and it's verging on going bust.

Not sure how you guys work but there is half an hours flat surface cleaning there plus tidying / edges, I would expect to have it done within 1 hour, inc hypo spray after. I would arrive, setup, do the job, pack away within around 1 hour and 20 mins, if it's local within 5 miles or so I would charge 75 quid, if it's a bit of distance then obviously that would be added onto the bill  ;D

We did a job on Friday where the woman sarcastically mentioned that £100 an hour was a good rate( her job took an hour and the cost was £100)

What she failed to realise that to get her job we spent an hour putting out leaflets, I had driven to her home to give her a quote which took my 40minutes, we had taked another 40 minutes traveling that day (although we were doing another job around the corner )

The amount of time a job takes is not just the amount of time you are cleaning.

Yes thats true, most my little patio jobs like that now are priced up via images, I gauge an idea of whether it's worth going over pricing for over the phone, if it's too far or sounds small, then I won't even go and price it, they have to send me a picture via text / email / etc. I personally live in quite a populated area and would never even think of travelling more than 15 mins to price the job unless I was passing or it sounded like a nice pricey job :) i honestly don't have time to go doing unpaid driving trips pricing jobs up, I also tell this to my customers who  seem to appreciate this, they must think 'he's busy, he must be good! haha, and then they send me a picture, I have it on my website as eco friendly pricing :)
