winding hose reel

Does your hose wind in from the bottom or top. Does it make any difference. I know it will drag a little less, if from the top

I always wind the hose with the hose on the bottom of the reel - I find it less likely to 'over-spill' when pulling the hose out.

I agree Alex, but its also easier to guide from the top. Or do people just wind away

I very much doubt a man of your wealth & standing Alex does much winding up of hoses!  ::)roll
Don't you have people to do that for you?

Not at all Samson  ;D

Alex deserves to take it easy, he's made life easier for all of us. However he shouldn't try and hoodwink us into thinking he now works for a living!
I drove past his estate the other day and stopped to gaze at his manicured lawns through his golden electric gates! I was sent on my way rather quickly however by a burly security man who was holding back a large rottweiler and who told me that his boss was not taking visitors!

If you wire a cordless drive straight in to the van battery then it will never go flat, or if you ran it on its own car battery, I would guess it would only need charging every now and again.

I run my drill straight off the vans battery with no problems.

I used two old batteries, so 24v through the drill.  My drills were very cheap, so 12v wouldn't generate enough torque.  Charged them every couple of weeks but could probably have got away with six months...

Stopped using them because the Joey in the film couldn't understand the instruction "If the hose snags, stop the drill or it will burn out". Twit.  Burned out three.

buy a 14v drill. If it burns out under warranty, sorted  ;)

Just reel it in using your arms; do it fast and treat it as a mini cardio exercise.

You're so lazy I bet you adopted your kids!
