I have not been that impressed with one we have used in the past. Any recommendations?

There are no best strippers for vinyl floors as these harsh chemical strippers will cause detrimental damage to vinyl surfaces, if you want a safe cleaner for vinyl floors just make sure they are not high alkaline based  or any cleaner with a pH value over 9 and you should be okay, to err on the side of caution always check out the msds on the product you choose to work with.

One of the biggest problems in our industry is the damaged caused to vinyl floors from the continuous use of traditional floor strippers which usually have a pH value from 12.5 to 13.5 these high alkaline based strippers contain corrosive ingredients and as they are used on a continuous basis they can chemically burn the vinyl surface, they are also often used to deep clean safety floors and again cause huge problems as their high pH value again chemically burns the surface if you ever see a yellowish staining on these types of floors you will know that it has been caused by high alkaline based chemicals, and there is no solution to solving this problem once the surface has been damaged.
A good solution to this problem on vct and flooring is to use a floor dressing that you never have to strip if you need information on such products let me know and i can send on more information.

Kind regards

Thanks Tadgh.

I have found that vinyl floor manufacturers recommend floor cleaners with a high PH value and even their own cleaning products which some manufacturers sell have a high PH.

I have seen this yellowish staining on a few floors and one I looked at this year had the same but had only been cleaned by water. I know he was telling the truth as he is a vicar and he does it him self  ;D

I also had one last year that had yellowish staining and they did not even have a mop and bucket, they said they just swept it!

I agree with Tadgh in that the continuous use of any Heavy Duty cleaner will damage either the floor or if not the sealer.  We always install a floor care maintenance plan which tells the client to do regular or everyday cleaning with a pH Neutral cleaner and then to deep clean periodically with a High Alkaline Heavy Duty Cleaner.

Thanks Chaps.

Tadgh ... I was not really asking about " the continuous use of traditional floor strippers " as I already knew the answer to that! Thanks for your input anyway.
