Hi, I have decided to get myself a top quality RO capable of producing high quality water as quickly as possible. looking to pay no more than a grand, any suggestions?

Mine does 1000gpd easily if I need it.. Paid £500 for it from RO Man a few years ago.. However now I would build my own.. Dead simple to do

Thanks mate, is your unit transportable? Ideally I want something that I can put in the van and also be able to easily take it out to fill up my static tank when I need to.

I always have it static so it serves the other van.. Wont have it in van because of, space, extra weight and the cold winter. Much better in the garage..

I've always had my RO with the static tank, but want to be able to use it in the van also, and hopefully on larger jobs I can fill up from the customers tap, with their permission of course!

The problem with that one is to get the stated water production times you would need a booster pump, so ideally you need a booster pump that could run of a battery or you will need electric as well when at a customers property especially if they have a low mains pressure

I thought that too mate, but surely it would still work just on mains pressure and produce some water, even if not in huge quantities, and I could just use the pump when at home? Do you know of a system with a battery operated pump?

groundhog i have that 40" ro from pure freedom and its excellant, it arrived on a pallet next day fully assembled ready to go.

I also do a few big jobs where extra water sometimes is needed but i just take the resin bottle and just top up the tank with that, yes it uses up the resin quickly but considering how much the large jobs are worth its a drop in the ocean, the 40" ro is really heavy, and with how much it costs I wouldnt risk taking it in the back of the van to jobs wouldnt want it being damaged sliding around in the back of the van

Thanks Scrimble, maybe I will get two, the 40" for my static tank, and a cheaper one for work. The Tds here is really high, so I don't think just using resin is an option.

the tds where i am is high around 370ppm, but i only do a very large job where returning back to base to re fill isnt an option around every 3 months, it depends on your needs

That's about how high the Tds is here, how low do you get it with the resin on its own?

7ppm before resin, no booster pump my tap pressure is 50psi
