Hi Pete, if you want to keep it simple just use a magic eraser pad damp with water and scrub  the area to remove all traces of adhesive labels, just finish off with microfiber and job done.

Tadgh, have you ever done a builders clean?

In my experience, wetting the glass, brute strength along with strong fingers and a scraper is the only answer.

Pete, what ever price you are thinking of, and this may sound hard to say when quoting, triple it. If you are basing the price on first clean domestics, quadruple it or even higher.

I think you'll be surprised at how many builders will accept the price. Window cleaning costs is minute compared to their other costs even though it seems stupidly high to window cleaners.
Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.

hi pete ....just to confirm, are you talking about the glass itself or the frames?  if its the glass its easy just wet with soap and water & scrape.

if its the protective film on upvc frames that the manufactures put on, you can try steaming them to soften the glue and then using the white non scratch scourers  or use a solvent. if you use a solvent try it out on a small inconspicuous area first.

Hi, thanks for that. This is just a new business I have started mainly domestic cleaning but have been asked to quote for the whole development.I have quoted a price from £20 for lightly soiled windows up to £80 for heavily soiled windows per house.

Hi guys, thanks for all your advice on this. Think I might try Detak tar and glue remover as advised along sheer stubbornness and a few swear words :)
This is a new business and I'm struggling with pricing jobs but I must say this site is fantastic for connecting businesses who are all willing the lend a hand to each other...brilliant.
Pete.
