I paid for advertising on Yell a few years ago for a while. I did get some fairly decent commercial work through it and still have one of those jobs to this day (with all services, the job pays about £540 a year). I used to do a hotel too that was about £100+ a clean - but I lost that when a new manager started who wanted to pay peanuts. There were a couple of other jobs too. I would say that, for me, it was financially neutral. So that side of it was OK. The bit that wasn't OK was Yell phoning me up a lot when renewal time was coming round. I am unclear to this day which part of the word "no" was causing a comprehension problem. Also, and this bit is not Yell's fault, there was a massive increase in telesales cold calling. I accept that other companies may phone me to attempt a sale but not when my numbers are on the TPS register. The bit that was particularly galling was that, due to caller divert from my landline, I was paying a small fortune for those calls to be diverted to my mobile.
