People who work in offices = stress...no thanks
« on: June 03, 2014, 08:12:46 pm »
Cleaned a couple of large offices today inside and out. Listened to convos and dear me i couldnt be more grateful of my job. Every room they were stressing about this stressing about that, wheres this wheres that whos doing this whats happening with that. I quietly got on with my work, music in one ear, i couldnt of felt more chilled ... and i know i was earning more than them to lol.

I know this job has its ups and downs but im never gonna do anything else!

It doesn't matter what we do for a living; we create the stress; not the job.

They did this well known study of air traffic controllers - what was thought to be a typically high-pressure-high-stress occupation - and what they found was that some air traffic controllers were stressed, but others weren't; which just goes to show that no job is inherently stressful on it's own side.

Read some posts of guys here who've had their van written off in an accident, or had their engine blow up.  There's stress to be found in window cleaners.

I know what you mean, I would rather put up with repetitive strain, cataracts and premature
ageing than stress any day of the week.
Them poor sods wont ever know the joys of working in minus temperatures either, I do feel sorry
for them.

I had a really stressful day on Monday. My screen on my phone packed up. How was I to text customers for work the next day, no phone for 10 days and it looks as though I will have to pay for the repair. Genuinely I was as stressed as my days selling IT services. Window cleaning is as stressful as any other business.

How stressfull is that?
Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.

Stress is caused internally and isn't wholly dependant on external factors.  Although what you're doing sounds relaxing, you still could be stressed if your mind is unsettled (for whatever reason).

So we don't know how stressful that is for you.
