funny customers(now ex custy!)
« on: June 02, 2014, 10:35:36 pm »
estate work job up from £6 to £7 in april.i told him price was going up a quid.

collecting tonight(he owes £14 april and may clean) and he says "i didnt agree to the price rise!!and paid me £12!

i kept cool and just told him "thanks for your business over the years but i wont be cleaning your windows again as i think £7 is a good price"

he then started ranting saying i was being greedy and £7 was too much!i politely walked away.ive been cleaning his windows for over 10 years!!

i suppose you cant please everyone!!he s always been a bit of a funny bugger! ;D ;D ;D

Does it matter if it's £7 or £12? The point of the topic is the customer couldn't handle the £1 increase and Dazmond stood his ground

you will more than likely replace the job today  :)

wonder what would happen if he rang the council and said "im not paying the extra £12 in council tax this year as I think your being greedy"

been putting mine up for the last 2 weeks from £1 to £3 not lost any yet  :)

Just putting up say 6 up a quid today makes a difference of £72 a year ... reckon by time finished I will be about £150 to £180 a month better off (not putting everyone up)

Glad you stood your ground and well handled ... prob send his missus over to you in a few months time asking for you to do them again .... tell her £8 as price is higher for new customers ... say "I'm not SKY TV my best deals are for old customers"  ;D ;D

I reckon it gets complicated when you vary your prices according to type of customer. Dress it up how you like, but really Daz is charging these such a cheap price because they are council estates. For me it is x price for a 3 bed semi, more if you have bays etc. It is entirely about the property rather than the customer.

its not a council estate mate.its a small 3 bed semi.no bay windows,easy access,very,very compact work.7 windows.

i dont generally vary prices depending on the customer but i do for certain elderly customers that i like.for instance ill do a f/s/g clean for some customers cheaper just cos i like them/get brews off them etc ;) :).

when i said i have a lot of varied prices its because i have a lot of different properties to clean, houses with extensions,3 storey, large connys, commercial and millionaires houses! ;)

my initial thoughts are this guy is a skinflint.all the neighbours think he s a funny bugger but i dont think its just that.

he s seen me go from an old car with ladders on,jeans and t shirt  years ago to a very smart sign written van, logo d uniform and wfp.

i also go collecting in my car which even though its 14 years old is in good nick and in his eyes "a bit flash"!!2.5 V6!

all my stationary, tickets, business cards, etc are also more professional.

sometimes he s in when i clean and im sure he s timed me before now!it takes about 10 mins to clean including frames, sills and doors. :)

Although to be fair although the Mrs has a car, I couldn't justify the cost of one for myself with the van as well. So just having a car as well as a van shows a certain level of disposable income.

Daz's prices are up North, don't forget. It sounds about right to me; more than I charge, to be frank.
You must realise that we miss loads of windows and don't do the others properly, anyway.
It's what we call value for money, up North.

Cheers, Daz, but I was serious  ;D.
Maybe a bit tongue in cheek; but there is a difference in pricing between the North and south, generally.
And many wc'ers prices reflects the quality of work they do.
You pay £4, you get £4 worth  ;D.
