Nilfisk 30t
« on: May 31, 2014, 12:13:39 am »
I've had quite a few requests for gutter cleaning. Will the Nilfisk 30t vac be adequate for what i need? My jobs are all domestic properties. Thanks for any input or recommendations.

i know i might sound daft but does the suction power depend on the wattage if so what is the recommended wattage, ive seen one for about £450 which is 3000w,would that be suitable.cheers, martin

Ok, thanks.
I remember Avo contributing to a gutter cleaning thread and i was sure he used the Nilfisk. If not, can you give any suggestions as to which vacs to go for?
Thanks for the replies.

Yes it will work fine for domestics , for best results you need to replace the 38mm hose with 51mm.

You often get people on here saying it won't work when they have not even used it.

The suction power and airflow are the important figures .

The nilfisk has high figures compared to other 1800 watt vacs and matches or exceeds some 2400 watt vacs .....its not just about wattage , it is also pretty durable , been using mine for around 18 months and still going strong .

I have used it unto 3rd floor and once on four story and has done the job , for domestics it is perfect really .

If you are regularly doing 4/5 story work i would spend the extra 4/500 quid on a big super duper one .

I use the nilfisk with no problems, I had a 2400 w before and prefer this because its smaller and manoverable, sucks fine and is reliable, I do a few cleans a week so don't really need a super duppa one

Were do you get the 51 mm hose from
when you change the hose do you have to change the collar on the machine

Don't listen j.d and Ben talking rubbish as normal  ;D sorry boys

Yes it works fine with a 51mm hose pay close attention to keeping the filter clean and air dry it after use. It's suction will work ok on normal homes but not enough beef on commercial jobs

I use the Nilfisk with 38mm hose. Works ok. Cant see much point in using 51mm hose if you don't change the inlet port or use 51mm tubes.

the inlet port on the nilfisk is 51mm , the 38mm hose has an adaptor to fit .

i got my 51mm hose from grippa and there 51mm collar fits the nilfisk perfectly.

i have also used it on commercial jobs , remember a lot of blocks of flats /nursing homes etc use the same guttering as most houses so no different .

it does only hold 30 litres so on  a big job take something to empty it into.

I'm glad it works for you fellas. Personally I wouldn't waste the time and energy on a henry hoover type device!  The gutters you guys clean must only contain crisp dry leaves and nothing else. I clean real gutters where I live!

It's nothing like a Henry Hoover .

I have lifted out some large turfs with it .

Look at the suction specs not the wattage .

How many times have you tried the 30t ?

I have the 30t to be honest not really tried it yet.
Can remember some one saying you take filter out for better suction
or was it just keep cleaning and drying the filter?

Its a wetndry vac, that is not designed for gutter cleaning! Itlk pack in with any rough type of cleaning! I can only assume you guys don't clean too many gutters and are quite happy to plod along sucking up dry leaves and leaving the sludge behind!
