I'm still not sure what pole to get, at the mo my biggest pole is the 47ft x-tel which is soooooo heavy, I'm looking for a pole that the lengths are not 6ft plus as would be a nightmare to open. My pole the base is around 4 or 5 ft so the lengths are easy to open, the only thing with that is the bottom section is abit wide. Good pole thou. I'm needing about a 55footer as this one is falling slightly short on a job I do. How does the extreme with add on poles work. Are they around 5 ft sections ?

If you're only ever gonna reach to 50' odd Danny, get the Ionic Swift+.
Best commercial pole I've ever used.
If there's even a chance you'll go higher, get the Extreme 47'.
It is a very good pole.
It's what I've got now.
The extensions are ok and obviously, if you ever need to get to 80' you only need to buy more extensions, not a brand new pole.

47ft with one extension gives you around the 55-57 ft reach and fully telescopic.

Would seriously look at 47ft extreme.

I've a 47 extreme easy to use,light enough down to where my 25 takes over from although I allways take over with my 35 extreme just for lightness

I personally don't like the add on sections as you need to lift the pole in air to attach, to vulnerable in my opinion for one man, only takes gust wind for problems to occur, there a little more awkward than the modular sections don't know why.( Thought I would try them as they double up as gutter vac poles, but those sections will remain as gutter poles)

For me above the 47' I would use a gardiner modular every time,down to ridgity  and lightness, just from my experience

47 ft extreme pole danny with an extension will do you mate.

the difference will be amazing compared to the x-tel and it sounds like you need a lighter pole with your injury problems of late.

i bought the 47 footer in the sale for around £850 (old style clamps) last year.worth its weight in gold for higher jobs.

How often are you going to use the pole though?

You need to justify the silly cost of the extreme, I've a job that i use a compact smax 50 on at full height for a long time, the thing is we've used a SL pole thats slightly higher on the same job, one bit of wind and the SL goes whereas the smax has a bit more strength so can handle a bit of wind plus due to the weight the brush has more contact with the glass at that height, still at anything over 40ft your totally relying on luck that the window will be perfect. Its a total lottery.

Im going to adapt my wide extreme so it has 2 fans and 2 jets so as to hopefully give a better clean

I will be honest though and the last time i cleaned it was for 4 hours solid with the amax and my shoulders where hurting at the end of the day but cleaning at that height will always effect you

I have a few extreme brushes, I've modified them so they are 4 jet. Never had an issue yet. Did the same with my old Ionic commercial heads.

ste i dont use mine much.around 10 times a month but the pole will last years and years.when the higher jobs are due or i get a solar panel cleaning job im glad ive got it.i had a smax 40 and it was a nightmare for solar panels.far too much bend at angles and  heavier than an extreme.

Thanks for all your comments, yes Daz your right I'm looking at probably a lightish pole why with me shoulders & neck.
I do quite a fair bit of high work but this xtel is getting heavier as I'm getting older, making it hard work. This 47 extreme with extensions are the poles around 6ft plus sections ? Thanks chaps will look into the extreme with ext.
Dal the swift that's ionics ain't it, I don't like there clamps as as had an ergo lite years ago and the clamps didn't last long, when replacing them they cost
me a fortune and I had to cut them off shortening the pole so I thought if never buy ionics again.

Have you ever inspected your work 60ft up afterwards ? I have an sometimes it's great sometimes not so great. It so hard to judge it at that height. I think once my brush is adapted the. It may get better but it's what I find

Yes daz that's the main downfall of the smax which is it's meant for more upright cleaning. I do use mine at angles but I'm very careful how I put it up

Yes mate. Did a job every 4 months at 80'.
Had to do the insides of the stair wells on the 2nd day.
After the first clean they were near on perfect, every time.

Swift, yeah, Ionic.
I had the Ergolite 72' that had the difficult clamps. They were massive.
The Swift+ has transverse clamps. They're very good.
I've had both and the swift is definitely the better pole.
Though I have an extreme now.
