George problem

Where you sort your custy in round order, half my customers has disappeared. Have contacted Paul and told me to go to downloads link on website and recover data, but have put quite a lot of custy in George since then, if I recover data from when everything was ok will I lose all new data that I have put in since then??

I think the data recovery is a snap shot of your system of the time the data back up was taken.  So if you go restore it, then it will put your database in the same state as it was at the time of back up.

This is correct, at some time you will have hard drive fail or computer. As it has been said before, Backup Backup Backup.

If you haven't backed up for a week you loose a week, do it daily.

I only ask because as a newbie I'm goofing up on George quite a bit.

Is what you have typed simply hidden in a different round rather than lost? E.g main round instead of an area?

Been using George for over a year. I back up every day, have backed up loads of times since names went missing. Second half of custy list went missing a few weeks but have put nearly 300 custys in since then just don't want to have to enter them again.

Have you down loaded the data repair utility from George site.

Run it then see.

if you type in a new customer and cant find it again then use the search facility buttons (there's two versions) and you'll probably find your lost customer in your default round whatever you set that at. When you've found your missing customer, go through their details and put them on the right round you meant them to be in and not the default round :)

Hi Guys

If you ever get any odd behaviour in George, always run the Data Fix program. Grab it from our Downloads page if you don't already have it.

It's a good idea to run it once in while to keep your data files tidy.

If that doesn't solve it, contact me at our support@ or users@ address.

George backs up your data every time you close it down (if you've changed anything) so if you really screw something up, install and run out Data Restore program and go back to the point before you messed up. You will lose any data you've put in since then so only do it if you have to.
